TSUYOSHI OZAWA ::::

The project Vegetable Weapon begins with the artist asking the person who has agreed to be the model what his recommended dish of that region would be. In fact, Ozawa and the model go to a market together. Ozawa then uses the ingredients of that dish to create the shape of a gun, takes a portrait of the subject holding the gun, after which he has a party using the same materials. The project, which places emphasis on this entire process, involves people in various locations. At the same time, through this project, the artist delves into the subject of the potential of dialogue in various areas with diverse food cultures. The fact that the same ingredients can be transformed from a gesture of conflict into an opportunity for discussion involving a large number of people surrounding a single dish demonstrates that both enmity and friendship represent two sides of the same coin and that either one can be generated by a mere act of reinterpretation.
