H.H. LIM::::

The red curtains are covered in self-portraits of the artist making gestures in sign language, a language which uses images and words at one and the same time, a pure visual language centered on gesture and a script made of images, written with dancing movements of the hand and body.  Lim turns himself into multiple personages, his figures talking to each other, in silence.  On the plasma screen is shown the video 60 kg circa di saggezza:  one of Lim’s performances based on the law of survival in which he tries to stay upright on a basketball for as long as possible, pushing himself to the limit of his capacity for resistance, a gesture is based on ‘equilibrium’ and on ‘balance’.  This piece expresses the real state of being of an exiled soul as well as the desire for communication with others and the impossibility of obtaining a real dialogue.
